[Stimulation of DNA and protein synthesis by a highly dispersed zinc powder]
Izv Akad Nauk SSSR Biol. 1984 Jan-Feb;(1):130-3.

The biological activity of the finely dispersed zinc powder under its water suspension injection into animal was studied. The stimulation effect of the animals growth and development and on the liver regeneration processes after extensive partial hepatoectomia was established. It is shown that the acceleration of the liver weight regeneration process in mice after surgery with preliminary injected finely dispersed zinc powder is carried out at the increased level of metal content in the regenerating liver. It is revealed that under zinc powder injection into mice the increase of liver regeneration after partial hepatoectomia is connected with the DNA and protein syntheses stimulation in the liver of the experimental animals.
