Fedorov Iu.I., Volodina L.A., Kuzovnikova T.A., Lebedev V.S. The role of contact interactions between E.coli B. and the metal particles,
as well as the processes of electrochemical dissolution in the inhibition of the
protons ejection from bacteria under their energy supplement with glucose by the
finely dispersed copper powder was studied. It is shown, that the copper powder
toxicity is primarily connected with its capacity to be dissolved in the medium
of incubation. The ions ejected into medium under metal dissolution are only of
the factors of the inhibitory influence of copper powder on the energy exchange
of bacteria. The processes, promoting the maximal effectiveness of inhibition of
energy exchange in microorganisms by the metal powder, are, likely, localized
near the surface of metal particles. |
